What are your reasons for going natural?
I have a friend who was transitioning from heat damage and I was in awe of the versatility! My parents also told me how beautiful my curls use to be as a child and I wanted to find out for myself!
How did you transition (or did you BC)?
I transitioned for 11 months and randomly one night I was sick of dealing with the two textures and decided to big chop myself! It was so liberating.
What emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?
I learned a lot about confidence. I had such long hair and when I cut I felt like I wasn't myself. That was because I always thought my hair was what made me who I am so by cutting it I learned to be comfortable in my own skin.
What's your go-to style?
My go to style is definitely a wash and go or twist out. Both styles are so quick to do!
What’s your favorite product and why?
I have tried so many different products but the ones I seem to ALWAYS a purchase Eco-Styler Gel when I run out. It is so versatile, affordable and can be used for so many different hairstyles.
What piece of advice would you share with someone who is just starting out?
It may sound so cliche but BE PATIENT! Going natural is a learning process not only for your hair but for you as an individual. It's also important to embrace every stage of your journey!
