What are your reasons for going natural?

One day I was honestly tired of paying so much to get my hair done. It was getting pretty expensive!! I was also tired of my hair only growing to a certain length then breaking off and shedding a lot. I really wanted my hair to grow out and was tired of always cutting it. I got my last touch up seven years ago and never looked back!

How did you transition (or did you BC)?

I transitioned and slowly cut off the relaxed ends as my hair grew out. I started out wearing press and curls for a couple years until I decided to stop using heat on my hair.

What emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?

I had no clue what I was doing when I first went natural and it got a little frustrating at times. My hair is super thick and I would just want to keep wearing my hair straight instead of dealing with my hair. It took so much patience to really get to know my hair and get a routine down to tame it.

What's your go-to style?

I love twistouts!! I love the different results I get with each one and its the easiest to maintain.

What’s your favorite product and why?

I have so many favorite products but one of my holy grail products is my Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Treatment. It works a miracle on my hair in 3 minutes when I don't have time to really deep condition my hair!! It leaves my hair so soft, silky and easy to maintain.

What piece of advice would you share with someone who is just starting out?

Going natural take A LOT of patience. You will want to give up so many times but in the end, it is all worth it. Take the time to get to know your hair, what products it likes and doesn't like, what styles work best for you and just the overall natural experience.
